MAN CAUGHT STEALING FROM FELLOW PASSENGER IN PLANE IN NAIJA!!!
Daily Sun learnt that the passenger, who allegedly stole the money, occupied seat number 3C. He got up mid-way into the flight and opened one of the overhead lockers like one who wanted to pick up something from his stowed bag.
While pretending to rummage through his bag, he was said to have quietly removed N200,000 from another passenger’s bag. According to a source, the passenger stood up in the aircraft opened the overhead cabin, as if he was searching for missing items in his luggage, but picked the N200,000 of another passenger.
Unknown to him, two other passengers in the business class cabin saw his fast moves as he attempted to transfer the loot into his own bag. They smelt a rat and raised the alarm. Immediately, the cabin crew members arrived the scene to put the situation under control. It was immediately discovered that the money was not his. On arrival at the general aviation terminal of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, security officials of Arik Air handed the passenger over to aviation security personnel attached to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), who in turn transferred the passenger with the exhibit to the domestic wing police station of the airport for further investigation and possible prosecution.
An Arik Air source, who confirmed the incident said it was good that the man was nabbed because cabin crew members had been wrongly accused of stealing passengers’ money and other valuables in the past. An official of FAAN, who also confirmed the matter explained that the authority was briefed about the incident, affirming that the matter was being handled by the Police. However, the divisional police officer, at the domestic wing station, Fidelia
Victor, said the incident could have been reported to the office, but she was yet to be duly briefed as she was away for other assignments. She, however, said full investigation would be carried out on the incident.
